A kind artist nicknamed VickyBit invited me to participate in a collaborative comic project where artists draw a page of a comic based on those of the previous contributors, like a weekly story improv. So this past week showcased my impromptu turn with the baton where I continued the story of a school play GONE AWRY-GHT DOWN THE TOILET. You can start reading the experiment from the beginning, or jump to my page on either Tumblr or Deviantart! There’s some dope artists in the mix and it’s flattering to be alongside them – also my good Gangbunch friend Nic Carey is planned to be in the roster. The project updates Mondays.
Site commenter Doramjan would like to see a crowd-edited database of Moe canon, since he started a Moe Wiki! I wholly endorse this effort, and promise to not make the process difficult with needlessly contradictory or silly plot swings. Fake promise!
Moe is hardly a webcomic behemoth, yet I still have the gift of awesome fans! Everytime one of you shares these comics in forums, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, chat rooms, or college campus bulletin boards, I get some extra people checking out my website and it’s great. You’re the STREET TEAM. And all I can pay you with is more comics. Not a fake promise!
Merry Christmas from Moe & Co.!
Next year is going to be EXCITING in a way we’ve never known. The Chinese calendar calls it the Year of the Moe, and with good reason.
It is my intention to power through 2012 with a new Moe comic strip, EVERY SINGLE DAY. And even better than that, EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND, I am going to not put up any new comic strips. This will be the most prominent of several site changes I’ll be rolling out in the next year, and shall announce some others in the near future.
This commitment hinges on my comic making being able to pay my bills, however. So in the coming month(s), Moe will receive his first taste of merchandising. If you are a fan and interested in supporting my full-time productivity, I hope you will consider sending me all sorts of money!
Keeping my weekends somewhat free is an attempt to deliberately schedule time for other comic and illustration projects. I’m very interested in doing some longer form, much more impressively illustrated works that may even find their way onto printed pages. Printed pages inside of a book! A book you could open and read, or leave on the shelf and just look at admiringly!
