Writing this punchline was very awkward for me! I first had arranged it “was nervously going to be” but then the word ‘nervously’ was more connected to the ‘going to’! So it still sounds weird to me but at least the adverb is attached to the word I wanted it to describe.

Heya Firman, thought I’d take the time to say I found this site through a reference in a Ryan North interview; I was so hooked that I read the entire archive over the space of the weekend.
